Nurture and Care
One of the main reasons people come to church today is to belong to a community that cares. At New Covenant this is an essential part of our ministry. Our goal is for everyone who comes to our church to feel welcomed and cared for. To achieve this goal, we offer pastoral care in several ways.
Ministry Care
We have three ministers on staff at New Covenant who are all involved in providing care and counseling when needed by any member of our church family. A phone call or prayer request is all that is required.
New classes starting soon! This excellent program trains gifted lay people to offer one on one care and support to the church family when someone is struggling and needs a caring friend. Regular training is available for people gifted and willing to join this ministry.
Family Life Ministry
In a large church family, it is important to provide opportunities for the church family to gather in large groups to enjoy fellowship, fun, food (of course!) and friendship. The family life team does just that through programs, meals and retreats. These are great opportunities to enjoy being part of God's great family.
Women in Christ & Promise Keepers
These teams offer opportunities for growth and fellowship specifically designed for women and men.
Prayer Blanket Ministry
Lap-sized, hand-sewn blankets are given to people going through tough struggles in their life. The blanket is a tangible reminder that the healing prayers of the church surround them. Each month at New Covenant, the blankets are prayed over and dedicated to the church. Blankets can be made from many materials in many styles to suit each person receiving the gift.
The efforts of our volunteers transform the blanket inot a message of loving prayer, with every thread interwoven with God's healing love. If you would like to become involved in this caring ministry, or would like further information, please call Ann Williams(340-8120).
Homebound Visitation
Trained volunteers provide practical care and support for older and disabled members who are confined to homes or nursing facilities.
Caring Meal Ministry
On occasions when families need the practical help by someone else providing a meal such as funerals, new babies, illness; this team provides just that.
Emmaus Walk
New Covenant supports and participates in the Emmaus community. This is a 72 hr retreat in which men and women are invited to re-ignite or rediscover their love relationship with Jesus Christ in a caring community setting. The Emmaus community also provides similar ministry to young people, prison inmates and families of inmates.
At New Covenant we make sure that everyone is cared for when needed; and we encourage every member of our community to be involved intentionally in caring for others in the community and outside.
