Servant Celebration
There is nothing on Earth more powerful than prayer. Communicating with God on a daily basis is essential to our relationship with the one who made us. This week, we wanted to celebrate two people who have initiated a marvelous new prayer ministry. The ministry is called Acts 29 and was brought into existence by Gene and Eva Hackler. What exactly is Acts 29, and why did the Hackler’s feel compelled to bring it to New Covenant? Read more…
Acts 29 is an opportunity to pray daily in your home for New Covenant Church – the same prayers that others in this ministry are praying on the same days. The Hackler’s believe that as we pray of one mind and purpose, we are interceding for God’s will to be done and for his kingdom to come to our church.
Gene and Eva are not content to just sit in the pews on Sunday mornings and go home after the last song. They observed a need for a group of praying people to lift up the needs of New Covenant in a unified manner. They have at their own expense and on their own time written and printed an excellent catalogue that explains and outlines the Acts 29 Ministry. You can pick up a copy in Decker Hall or at the church office. If that wasn’t enough, the Hackler’s are teaching a Sunday Covenant Community class, Jeremiah 29:13 Seekers Class.
We salute them for jumping in and creating a ministry with a specific area of service. We are all called to ministry at New Covenant, whether it is to serve in an existing ministry or perhaps starting a new one. The opportunities are limitless. The Hackler’s give us a perfect example of how each and every one of us can take a passion and transform it into a functioning area of service.
